I've started a little side project. It has nothing to do with Ashby Falls so if you're just here for that, stop reading now.
It's a new neighbourhood, Amberton. It's kinda a cross between a medieval peasant/ live off the land hood. There's no electricity, or grocery stores, or anything like that. It's quite a challenge so far, and I'm enjoying a change of scenery. I've never had a themed hood before so it's kinda fun.
Don't worry, Asbhy Falls isn't going anywhere... yet :)

I absolutely love this idea. I always want to start something like this, in a huge part due to the wonderful themed outfits at All About Style, but I can't split my attention between hoods. And I don't want to bog down my computer with multiple neighborhoods. I wish there was a way to incorporate it into a modern hood!

ReplyDeleteI'm entertaining this idea of doing a past/present version of my hood, especially because of all the ghosties in by hood. Like playing sims as historical sims, with no electricity, technology, etc. but it being part of the same hood, just in the past.
I would love to check out Amberton! I was just thinking about a themed neighborhood myself; the most I've done was a themed family. Unfortunately, I'm afraid if I abandon Crescent County, I may never/rarely go back, but there's a such think as themed fund raising parties...*evil smirk*
ReplyDeleteI was worried if I started another rneighbourhood I would forget Ashby Falls, but now I actually think its going to be good for me, if I get sick of Ashby Falls, I'll play Amberton for a while until I feel like playing the Falls again. It works out nicely :)The theme is a bit of a challenge though :/
ReplyDeleteI also have a kinda-but-not-really build a city challenge neighbourhood. Its pretty much the same as Amberton at the moment (because there are no careers unlocked) so my sims are living off the land etc, just its not themed. I spend more time on the Falls than anything else, I'm beginging to grow rather fond of my simmies :)
